House RE was very much affected by the demanding local conditions that represented a major challenge for the designing team. The ever-changing volume of inner space is strongly influenced by the surrounding area’s diversity. An open floor interior design meets the needs of this young family’s modern life and offers comfort and quality. The living room overlooks the forest through the panelled glass wall that encloses the external roofed patio, which provides a direct contact to its natural surroundings. Children’s rooms are located in the attic while the main bedroom is located in the south part of the ground floor level with a necessary degree of privacy for the parents. The basement, which is submerged into the hill, is used for parking and technical areas. The boldly designed facade is a combination of dark colour shades and natural larch wood’s textures.
